I wanted to make a SPECIAL post for today to THANK some VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE.
Not sure if you noticed my new banner (which has been up for a couple weeks now) but isn't it great? I wish I could take credit for it, but I had nothing to do with this little project. I received a nice email from Danielle from The Lenz Family saying she enjoyed reading my blog and made me a "little something" she thought fit my personality and the blog's character. I actually know Danielle through a mutual friend and I have known her husband since 4th grade! Crazy - I know! However, I never knew she was such a crafty creative person! I had been working on finding a design for my banner, but nothing seemed "perfect." After I saw what had made for me, I gushed with joy! Totally unexpected but SO MUCH appreciated. It's so gratifying to know there are sweet people out there like her that do things like this...just because. Thanks Danielle! If you haven't visited her blog, please do! She is amazingly talented and has such a great eye for amazing designs.

Now, on to the awards I have received. I got The Sunshine Award from H Rija from My Lyfe; My Story which came so unexpectedly. However, I am so happy and flattered she nominated for me this. Check out her blog HERE. Such a talented lady! As you know, I am all about POSITIVITUDE on my blog so this was really an honor.
The second award I received is from my blogging BFF's Mendi and Jayme at Her Late Night Cravings. I can't even remember how I met these wonderful gals, but I think we were best friends in another life. They are such great and talented women. I LOVE their blog which is FILLED with endless beauty and fashion tips. Thanks for giving me this award!
The third award I recently received is from Brittany of Swirls of Happy. She listed me as one of her top blogs she reads daily and I think my confidence shot up a couple notches after I read that. I can't even remember who found who first, but as soon as I came across her blog, I started following her right away. Why? Honestly, because she is beautiful and her kids are soooo adorable. Ha! Seriously, though, her blog is similar to mine in that she writes about all things that inspire her and she lets us catch a glimpse of her life which I love.
So...the rules of the awards are fairly similar but instead of listing 30-40 other bloggers, I will just tell you 7 facts about myself. Yes - I am changing the rules but it's because I have a "Link Love" page where I list my favorite blogs I visit on a daily basis.
The rules are as follows:
1.) Thank & link back to the person who sent the award
2.) Share 7 things about yourself
3.) Award recently discovered bloggers
4.) Contact these bloggers & tell them about the award

FACT #1: I didn't realize I snore at night until I met my husband. Even then, I didn't believe him until I woke myself up one night. Craziness!
FACT #2: My hair is NOT that of a typical Asian. I actually have crazy lioness hair. It's wavy and frizzy and the Chi is my best friend.
FACT #3: Every time I see Chicken Fried Steak on a menu, I have to order it. Here's the story behind it: before my husband and I started dating, I was volunteering at his clinic. At the time, I was interested in Physical Therapy and needed hours for the Masters program. Any who, one day for lunch, he offered to buy takeout for the clinic. He thought I would order a salad or something incredibly healthy, but to his suprise I blurted out "I want the chicken fried steak." I was very hungry that day. From that point on, he knew he was in love. We told this story at our wedding reception and got some good laughs. "You had me at Chicken Fried Steak."
FACT #4: I am patient and happy like my mother, a prankster like my father, and am a spitting image of my grandmother when she was my age.
FACT #5: I have 1 older brother who always takes me out for free lunches. I LOVE that about him!
FACT #6: I am a HUGE carb lover. Potatoes are my weakness.
FACT #7: I cry at movies...even action movies. Does that make me weird? I think so, but that's ok.
EXTRA FACT #8: My husband and I hug for 1 minute each day and it's usually after work around dinner time. I know it sounds strange, but with our busy lives, this is something I really look forward to each day. Trust me, that 1 minute is a looooong minute. We hug it out and usually laugh at the silliness but we love it.

I can totally relate with you when you say "I do not have typical Asian hair and my hair is wavy and frizzy" part. My hair is just like that and my flat iron is also my best friend. I bring it everywhere especially for travels.
And your story about the chicken fried steak is so sweet and funny. I haven't tried chicken fried steak yet (haven't seen them on a menu) but I love chicken fried chicken from Cracker Barrel (looks like fried chicken steak too)
It's great getting to know more about you!
