Fashion Fridays: Allure Bridal Wedding Collection

I don't think planning a wedding is hard; it's keeping the wedding within a certain budget that stresses most brides out.  Sure, we all want the ULTIMATE dream wedding, but you have to keep it within your means.  That's why I'd like to showcase some amazing gowns by a very affordable designer today.  I've been watching "Say Yes to the Dress" and it's crazy to hear that most of the brides' budgets are $5000.  Ekk!  I wish I could have spent that on my dress, but then, we wouldn't have been able to scatter our money into other important features such as the food and decor. Still, I spent about $1000 on my gown and got so many compliments on it.  I LOVE my dress! The purpose of my story? You don't need to break the bank for a beautiful gown.  Here are some of my favorite gowns from Allure Bridals worth taking a look at. Prices typically range from $700-$2000.

Top Pick Thursdays: Jason Wu Spring 2011

{source}
Good morning my beauties.  I'm sure you remember this jaw-dropping dress Michelle Obama wore back in 2008. Who could forget it?  Well, it was designed by Jason Wu.  He's 27 and he is phenomenal.  Because of this dress, his career has catapulted into a huge success.  He was one of the designers for Fashion Week and I vote him for my top pick designer for today. Here are my favorite outfits from his Spring 2011 Collection. As you will see, lots of color, sheer tops, and deep v-necks. I'll be daydreaming about these at work today.  Stunning!

Wedding Wednesdays: The Perfect Wedding Makeup

I'm like a chameleon - my makeup changes with my mood. That's why I love these looks!  They are all so different but equally delightful especially for weddings.  I opted for the glamour look with smoky eyes for my wedding, but can see myself wearing all of these looks sooner or later.  What's your look?

Wedding Wednesdays: The Side Chignon How-To

Good afternoon my sweet blogsters.  How is your day going? Thank goodness it's Wednesday! That means weddings, weddings, and more weddings!  I fell in love with this hair how-to I found on {this is glamorous} and had to share it with you.  Isn't it lovely?  Such a classic look for a wedding or a romantic outing.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Using a round brush, blow-dry hair smooth and straight, focusing on the top sections
2. Once dry, use a large-barrel curling iron to create waves from the ears down
3. Build height and volume at the crown by teasing hair gently with a fine-tooth comb
4. Gather hair into a low ponytail; twist it along the nape of your neck, pinning as you go
5. Once you reach your ear, shape the remaining hair into curls, and pin them back over
6. Put on some red lipstick, strike a pose, and bam!  A classic and sultry look

Trendy Tuesdays: Purr-fect Kitten heels

I have to be honest - I'm not a big fan of ANY type of shoe with less than a 3 inch heel (unless they're boots or tennis shoes), but these kitten heels are purr-fect!  I've been seeing more and more women wearing them and they are slowly growing on me.  Are you a fan? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Trendy Tuesdays: The High-Low Hem Dress

{source}
Hey there my lovelies!  Today has been such a crazy day.  My poor boss has been sick for almost a week and I've been slammed with so much work. I feel like I need another vacation already.  Still,  I have made time to blog.

Last week, I watched a snippet of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and saw the host wearing this adorable dress with a high-low hem.  I even saw a bride on "Say Yes to the Dress" wearing a wedding gown with this hem. I knew it was my calling to blog about this.  Keep your eyes peeled for this Spring 2011 trend.  I think this flirty, sexy style is going to be a huge hit, especially with Spring/Summer just around the corner.
