Trendy Tuesdays: Meet The Midi (Dress / Skirt)

Good morning lovelies! Happy Tuesday!!! Hope you had a fabulous weekend filled with POSITIVITUDE! It is SO insanely hot in Houston right now and we are in our 2nd week of record breaking temperatures. Luckily, I have today off and am spending most of my day INSIDE.

With that being said, I will be doing some online shopping and can't wait to get my hands on this fabulous fashion TREND - the midi.  The MIDI is the middle child of the mini and the maxi.  This style, when worn and styled right, can look amazing and very feminine. For me, I like to wear midi skirts/dresses that are less fitted and are reminiscent of the 40's and 50's (since I LOVE vintage-inspired outfits).  And, as you will see, most of the dresses and skirts have a high waist so pairing it with a thin belt will draw attention to the SMALLEST part of your waist thus adding GREAT curves. For the final touch, I would wear these with a great pair of heels to elongate my silhouette. This trend is VERY sophisticated, feminine, clean, and can be very preppy.

Sigh...CRAZY for this pieces.

In My Closet...Two Toned

Hi dolls! Happy Tuesday!  Time for another 'In My Closet' Post! Yay!!! Finally got some time to snap these shots and can't say enough GREAT things about this TWO-TONED vintage dress. 

Found this little number while thrift shopping and fell IN LOVE with it right away. It was hanging neatly in a nook and when I pulled it from the rack, it was in PERFECT condition and nicely pressed!  How nice of the owner to CLEAN the garment before giving it away.  Extra kudos to her!

See the loop on the right side of the dress? I  think it had a belt, but when I bought it there wasn't one so I added my own. TOTALLY wanted to wear this dress to work this morning, but I didn't since I am adding it to my online shop.  Not sure if you can tell, but this beauty has shoulder pads. Although I'm not a fan of them, I left them in since they weren't too bulky.

Top Pick Thursdays: Dolly Pearl

Happy Thursday my loves! So looking forward to my last day at work before the long weekend. Here's a few awkward+awesome happenings in my life right now:

AWKWARD: T took the dogs for a walk yesterday and good 'ole Tyson decided to eat a bird in his path. A LIVE bird. The size of a PIGEON. Actually, he SWALLOWED it whole after my hubby tried to choke the life out of him to let the bird go. A WHOLE bird people! How is this even possible??? Ayy...Thanks for hydrogen peroxide, he yacked it up. Eww. Is it ironic that I wrote about a bird/feathered theme yesterday too??? Weird.  

Has your dog ever done this?? I'd like to know...

AWESOME: WOW - SO MANY:
(1) Seeing MY blog on other blogrolls is pretty freakin' awesome (and flattering).
(2) Being able to eat wonton egg noodle soup for lunch is even MORE awesome.  YUM!
(3) Watching 'The Voice' last night and cheering Javier Colon on!  So glad he won!  I LOVE seeing talented people succeed and he TOTALLY deserves it!  Did you know our wedding song was by him?  YUP - we are true fans.  YAY Javier!!! Click HERE for the post.
(4) And, the grand daddy - my top pick for today is the awesomest of them all.

If there's one thing I love, it's seeking out motivated people that constantly inspire me EVERY DAY.  Even in the face of hardships and roadblocks, they stride on and push forward...and that is amazing. The designer of Dolly Pearl is just that...AND SOME.

Vi Hoang is the beautiful face behind Dolly Pearl and she one talented superwoman.  She's also from Houston and although I don't personally know her, I follow her on twitter and she is so great! EVERYTHING about her collection is stunning.  From the exquisite silk draping to the detailed soft ruffles, every single piece of clothing is made with care and I LOVE ALL of it!  Seriously, there isn't one outfit I don't like and that's hard to do.  Dolly Pearl is ALL about the elegant sophisticated woman and her line seeks out this unspoken romantic theme which leaves me in complete awe. And did I mention she has a bridal collection too? O.M.G.

Sigh...here's what I will be dreaming about today. Lovely isn't it?

In My Closet...Blushing

Hi dolls! Happy Tuesday! I have taken the day off to enjoy some ME time and work on some side projects.  Yay!  Hope your day has started off WONDERFULLY. I'm feeling a little lazy today so there won't be a Trendy Tuesday post until next week, but this post kind of qualifies as a trend - BLUSH colors are SO in right now and remember my previous post HERE on missoni prints?  Yup - I'm sporting this trend today as well.

Found this AMAZING vintage dress a few weeks ago and I am IN LOVE with it!  I paired it with a great vintage green jacket and rolled up the sleeves for some color contrast. Love the look - could wear this to work or an evening out on the town.  The dress actually came with a vest, but I didn't like it much so I left it out.  I'm wearing my missoni print peep-toe pumps and added the belt just because I LOVE belts and ta-dah! An outfit I REALLY love.  It's totally me - part girlie, part vintage, and 100% classy. 

The dress (with vest) and jacket will be added to the online store! I am hoping to get it up an running by the beginning of July. Are you as excited as I am??

Fashion Fridays: Jenny Packham S/S 2011

While feeding my latest addiction on Pinterest this morning, I came across a beautiful Jenny Packham gown and knew it would be today's Fashion Friday post. As I browsed the Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, I came across one particular dress and thought "man this dress looks very similar to the one Kate Middleton wore at the gala function." BAM! Talk about déjà vu!  Sorry - ever since the wedding, I haven't kept up with the royal couple at all, but yes, this was the gown!

Oh Kate...you have such great taste!  And for the record, I personally think you are so much prettier than Pippa, but that's another post for another day.  That's her dress below on the left.  LOVING these beautiful pieces. LOTS of glitter, MULTIPLE shades of blue and pinks, and SULTRY sheer material.

Fashion Fridays: Shopbop's ONE by Collection

Morning dolls! T.G.I.F.!!! Any exciting plans in store? I'm already planning what I'd like to wear this weekend and these are my Saturday and Sunday picks.  LOVING Shopbop's One by Collection.  It's a curated collection from various designers and is one of Shopbop's 4 boutiques.  I REALLY want these two dresses.  The first is One by Line & Dot; the other is from One by Boulee.  Found some cute accessories to match too, although they are a bit out of my price range.  However, it will serve as good inspiration to find more affordable deals.  Aren't you LOVING those blue suede booties? I want them, but at almost $650, I may have to give up a few meals before I can get them. Happy shopping my lovelies!

T.G.I.F. dolls!  Can you believe it's already Friday? I CAN!  What are your plans?  Can you believe we had a birthday to attend EVERY weekend in May?  I think I have another one to attend tomorrow...or is it next weekend?  Not sure, but I will definitely want to look cute either way which brings me to today's post.

A couple weeks ago, I went to Urban Outfitters looking for a gift but was unsuccessful. Fashion Fridays: Style on a Budget

Morning dolls! T.G.I.F!!!  Are you excited the weekend is here?  I can just FEEL all the POSITIVITUDE beaming through the screen and I LOVE it!  Hope this day goes by SUPER fast for you so you can enjoy the weather outside.

Before I head out for my hair appointment, I HAD to share these LOVELY dresses from ASOS.  I LOVE having days off, but I find myself venturing off into territories I shouldn't...like treating myself to shopping sprees and such...like EVERYDAY!  Luckily, this store has AMAZING prices you just can't beat and the quality of their clothing is great.  Take a look and let me know if you see anything you like.  PS - EVERYTHING is UNDER $100. Good morning lovelies! I can't believe I am up this early. I woke up thinking it was Saturday...did this happen to you too??  TGIF! 

Today happens to be Good Friday AND Earth Day so I had to show you Erdem's Spring RTW Collection.  I love the feminity in each piece and how the Canadian designer incorporates 3 of this season's hottest trends - bright colors, lace, and sheer material - into his work.  It's FULL of floral prints, earthy tones, and beautiful spring designs. Don't you feel more earthy just looking at these fabulous outfits? (P.S. I am also totally in love with the braided hairstyles AND did you notice their shoes match their dresses? O-M-G!)

Trendy Tuesdays: Did you "Orange" this??

I have never seen so much orange in my life. Orange dresses, pants, lipstick, eye shadow...you name it!  It's one of the hottest colors this season and I'm totally digging it. Elie Saab (who I am madly in love with) has these stunning pieces I had to share with you from his Spring RTW 2011 Collection. Why do I feel so infused with Vitamin C right now???
