In My Closet....To A Bright Future

My darlings, it has been such a CRAZY busy day!  This is the FIRST chance I am getting to catch my breath.  As you may (or may not) know, today is the last day at my job.  For the past 3 years, I have worked for a WONDERFUL consulting firm where my bosses have grown to be like a second family to me.  I have grown to love them as my own and it was a VERY bitter sweet day for me.  I hate saying goodbye, but I know this won't be the end of our relationship.

God has blessed me with an amazing opportunity to do what I truly LOVE and I knew I'd be silly not to take him up on it. However, I am also SO thankful for the great relationships I have formed along the way and THAT in itself is so PRICELESS.

I can firmly say that I am now chasing my dreams...and THAT brings me happiness...
What are YOUR dreams and passions? What makes YOU happy?

My Fridays are always filled with colorful happy outfits like this one.
Everything is thrifted and I LOVE all the hot colors and floral printed skirt.
These will be added to the online store. ARE YOU LOVING IT?
Happy Friday my beauties. Make it a great and beautiful weekend
and spread the POSITIVITUDE!

In My Closet...Two Toned

Hi dolls! Happy Tuesday!  Time for another 'In My Closet' Post! Yay!!! Finally got some time to snap these shots and can't say enough GREAT things about this TWO-TONED vintage dress.

Found this little number while thrift shopping and fell IN LOVE with it right away. It was hanging neatly in a nook and when I pulled it from the rack, it was in PERFECT condition and nicely pressed!  How nice of the owner to CLEAN the garment before giving it away.  Extra kudos to her!

See the loop on the right side of the dress? I  think it had a belt, but when I bought it there wasn't one so I added my own. TOTALLY wanted to wear this dress to work this morning, but I didn't since I am adding it to my online shop.  Not sure if you can tell, but this beauty has shoulder pads. Although I'm not a fan of them, I left them in since they weren't too bulky.

Whatcha think? Can you see yourself wearing this???

In My Closet...Floral Pleats

T.G.I.F dolls!  Hope this Friday has been SUPER good to you!  I woke up this morning TOTALLY excited to call mom and wish her a WONDERFUL Happy Birthday.  Still half asleep when she answered, I belted out the birthday song like bad karaoke and she loved it. Then, the convo went something like this:

MOM: Thank you. That's so nice, but you're one day late.
ME: WHAT?  No way mom. Your birthday is on June 30th.
MOM: Yes it is, but today is July 1st.
ME: WHAT? No way mom. (Long pause) Today is Friday June 30th.
MOM: (Laughing) I think you have been working too hard.
ME: (Long pause) Oh my God mom! I am SOOO sorry!!!

We sure had a good laugh about it. Mom - I LOVE YOU and Happy (Belated) Birthday! Can't wait to see you to celebrate!

Before I leave you for the weekend, here's something I'd LOVE to wear on a nice weekend outing.  I am crazy for PLEATS and floral prints right now!  What better way to feel pretty and girlie right?  And, this is in my FAVORITE color!!!  The beautiful vintage pleated skirt will be added to my online store for some beautiful belle to flaunt.

Here's to a beautiful festive weekend!
Be safe and spread the POSITIVITUDE to old friends and new ones too!

In My Closet...Western Ruffles

Howdy doody!  I've been in such a "western/country" mood lately.  Here's a new outfit I meant to post on Saturday.  Opps!  It was a crazy busy weekend.  I will be adding the vintage top to my online store, but here's how I would pair it if it were "In My Closet."  Don't you love the ruffles and stitching?? It's simple but does the trick.

Does my hair look familiar??  I tested out the Top Knot Bun tutorial from last week and it worked out so great! I tweaked it a little since I had so many layers (no knot needed for me) and bobby pinned it in 5-6 places and voila! I gotta say...this is one of my favorite outfits yet. Casual, trendy, and a little western-inspired.  This is how we Texas gals do it!

Dreamy Dining Room Mondays...

Good morning my lovelies! How was your weekend?? T and I went out Friday night to celebrate some AMAZING news! More deets on Wednesday, but changes are in the works and I am truly blessed and excited!  We also viewed another home that looks very promising.  The house has a very roomy dining room and it got me thinking about dreamy dining areas.

There's something about a country-inspired rustic room that makes me feel so at home.  I LOVE rooms that incorporate new and old themes and these rooms have the best of both worlds.  We DEFINITELY want something with character to make our guests feel welcomed when they come over for dinner.  And with our HUGE family, it will be good to have a long table to fit all our guests.  Today, I am dreaming about these beautiful dining rooms. Aren't they lovely??

In My Closet...Blushing

Hi dolls! Happy Tuesday! I have taken the day off to enjoy some ME time and work on some side projects.  Yay!  Hope your day has started off WONDERFULLY. I'm feeling a little lazy today so there won't be a Trendy Tuesday post until next week, but this post kind of qualifies as a trend - BLUSH colors are SO in right now and remember my previous post HERE on missoni prints?  Yup - I'm sporting this trend today as well.

Found this AMAZING vintage dress a few weeks ago and I am IN LOVE with it!  I paired it with a great vintage green jacket and rolled up the sleeves for some color contrast. Love the look - could wear this to work or an evening out on the town.  The dress actually came with a vest, but I didn't like it much so I left it out.  I'm wearing my missoni print peep-toe pumps and added the belt just because I LOVE belts and ta-dah! An outfit I REALLY love.  It's totally me - part girlie, part vintage, and 100% classy.

The dress (with vest) and jacket will be added to the online store! I am hoping to get it up an running by the beginning of July. Are you as excited as I am??

In My Closet...Color Block

Is it me or is it getting HOT in here? T.G.I.F my sweeties!!!  So happy the weekend is FINALLY here!  Before I go, here's a goodie for you.  Found these great pieces while thrift shopping and had to share it with you.  LOVING the color block trend right now so I put together my own outfit...which will also count for today's 'Fashion Friday' post. Of course, the awesome blazer and blouse will be added to the online shop and are in wonderful condition. I secretly wish I could keep them, but I know it will look even MORE amazing on some fashionista out there.

And don't get me started on the hot PINK lips. I got inspired after looking back at an old post HERE.  For some reason, pink looks way better on me than red...and I love it!  I loved it so much I kept it on until I went to bed last night and the Husband kept giving me the "whoa" look.  That's right. Eat your heart out baby.

Let's make it a SUPER BRIGHT and BEAUTIFUL weekend people!  Who's with me??
Spread some POSITIVITUDE.
It DOES a body GOOD.
xoxo

In My Closet...Hippie Chic

Aren't you GLAD the day is almost over?  As we inch closer to the weekend (YAY!), I am hoping to put my floppy hat to good use.  Bought it a few weeks ago and haven't had a chance to wear it.  I love it because it has the perfect amount of "flop" and the color is such a rich brown.  I'd LOVE to pair it with some white/ivory pieces for a perfect summer look.  Kinda modern. Kinda hippie-ish.  Gotta love the 70's trend right now!

I will be adding the satin ivory vintage blouse and crochet cardigan to my online store once its up and running, but in the mean time, this is how I'd wear it if these were in my closet...

In My Closet...Sheer Blue

It has taken MANY weeks to start this NEW segment on my blog, but I am THRILLED to finally get it up and running!  Had to learn how to use my camera first (and although I am still learning), it's been quite an adventure!  Also had to teach the Husband what I knew so it has been like the blind leading the blind.  What can I say...we are a work in progress.

I will be starting an online shop VERY soon, but in the mean time, I wanted to show you some of the goodies I have in store for you.  Everything is handpicked by me and is either vintage attire or premium brands I found at a steal.  Will keep you guys updated about this!  So, here's my very FIRST outfit post.  Found this amazing vintage sheer top a couple weekends ago and had to pair it with the latest trends - gold accessories and high-waist pants - to complete my look. A modern look with a vintage twist.
