Trendy Tuesdays: Meet The Midi (Dress / Skirt)

Good morning lovelies! Happy Tuesday!!! Hope you had a fabulous weekend filled with POSITIVITUDE! It is SO insanely hot in Houston right now and we are in our 2nd week of record breaking temperatures. Luckily, I have today off and am spending most of my day INSIDE.

With that being said, I will be doing some online shopping and can't wait to get my hands on this fabulous fashion TREND - the midi.  The MIDI is the middle child of the mini and the maxi.  This style, when worn and styled right, can look amazing and very feminine. For me, I like to wear midi skirts/dresses that are less fitted and are reminiscent of the 40's and 50's (since I LOVE vintage-inspired outfits).  And, as you will see, most of the dresses and skirts have a high waist so pairing it with a thin belt will draw attention to the SMALLEST part of your waist thus adding GREAT curves. For the final touch, I would wear these with a great pair of heels to elongate my silhouette. This trend is VERY sophisticated, feminine, clean, and can be very preppy.

Sigh...CRAZY for this pieces.

Good morning my darlings! How was your weekend? Anything exciting you'd like to share? I don't know about you, but my Monday flew by yesterday. In My Closet....To A Bright Future

My darlings, it has been such a CRAZY busy day!  This is the FIRST chance I am getting to catch my breath.  As you may (or may not) know, today is the last day at my job.  For the past 3 years, I have worked for a WONDERFUL consulting firm where my bosses have grown to be like a second family to me.  I have grown to love them as my own and it was a VERY bitter sweet day for me.  I hate saying goodbye, but I know this won't be the end of our relationship.

God has blessed me with an amazing opportunity to do what I truly LOVE and I knew I'd be silly not to take him up on it. However, I am also SO thankful for the great relationships I have formed along the way and THAT in itself is so PRICELESS.

I can firmly say that I am now chasing my dreams...and THAT brings me happiness...

Top Pick Thursdays: Mustard & Mayo

My beautiful friends! Happy Almost Friday!!!  It is such a humid and blistering hot day in Houston, but I don't care because all I can smell are the sweet adventures of the weekend that awaits me and THAT alone makes me UBER happy and excited today!

Today's post is NOT about food...sorry (although food seems to ALWAYS linger in my mind)!  I have been crushing SO hard on this color combo lately, although I JUST realized I only have 2 mustard colored tops in my closet. TIME TO EXPAND the wardrobe!

I don't know what it is about the colors but they go SO well together and the mustard color is reminiscent of a vintage, old-schooled look which I LOVE. Plus, with Fall right around the corner, this color is wonderful for the season. Here are some of my TOP PICKS from my FAVORITE stores.

In My Closet...Two Toned

Hi dolls! Happy Tuesday!  Time for another 'In My Closet' Post! Yay!!! Finally got some time to snap these shots and can't say enough GREAT things about this TWO-TONED vintage dress. 

Found this little number while thrift shopping and fell IN LOVE with it right away. It was hanging neatly in a nook and when I pulled it from the rack, it was in PERFECT condition and nicely pressed!  How nice of the owner to CLEAN the garment before giving it away.  Extra kudos to her!

See the loop on the right side of the dress? I  think it had a belt, but when I bought it there wasn't one so I added my own. TOTALLY wanted to wear this dress to work this morning, but I didn't since I am adding it to my online shop.  Not sure if you can tell, but this beauty has shoulder pads. Although I'm not a fan of them, I left them in since they weren't too bulky.

Top Pick Thursdays: The Tuck and Roll

My Darlings - how has your Thursday been?  It's been a whirlwind of a day and I am running a little behind.  Is anyone as excited for the weekend as I am??? Woot! Woot!

One of the things I love MOST about my weekends is being able to dress COMFORTABLY - to slip into my favorite pair of jeans and a soft tee...and pairing it with a blazer and heels if I feel like "dressing" it up. I LOVE anything with DENIM and practically live in them whenever possible.

Lately, I've been LOVING my skinny jeans and boyfriend jeans.  Unfortunately, sometimes I find a GREAT pair of jeans that aren't quite long enough for me. So, the quick fix - roll it up! As for the tops, I love doing the half tuck for tops that are a little too long or big. LOVING these casual outfits!
