Wedding Wednesdays: The Perfect Pink

My darlings - the day is coming to a close and all I can think about are these beautiful dreamy wedding photos.  I was never much of a "pink" girl, but I have found so much beauty and romanticism in these photos that it's hard NOT to love pink....especially blush pink.  It's the perfect shade for any girl and is my favorite color today.

What about you? What color is calling YOUR name today?

Wedding Wednesdays: One Colorful Wedding

Here is something you don't see everyday - a super duper colorful wedding party.  Why didn't I think of this for my wedding?  Makes me think of skittles...taste the rainbow.  I absolutely love it and just looking at this picture makes me giddy and happy inside. Wait - it gets better.  Did you see their matching bouquets? This was clearly a well-thought out wedding.  What do you think? Like or no like?

Wedding Wednesdays: A Perfectly Pink Wedding

Ok...so today I am also gushing over pink weddings in celebration of Valentine's Day.  Yay!  I love love love pink.  Light pink, hot pink...I love them all.  Not so much because it's "girly" but because of the beautiful hints of romanticism it adds to just about anything especially weddings.  When we had our wedding, the main color was purple for the ceremony, but it actually became the accent color for our reception.  We incorporated lots of creams and light pink to brighten up the room for the romantic theme we wanted. It was perfect.  To my lovely friends and soon-to-be brides: I hope this inspires your perfectly pink wedding. Enjoy!

Top Pick Thursdays: Elizabeth Anne Designs Real Weddings

I originally planned to only post one entry today but when I came across Elizabeth Anne Designs, I gasped in awe and admiration at THIS real wedding they posted. This beautiful couple got married in Georgia and everything, I mean everything, was perfect. This is my top pick wedding for today.  The color selection (peach and champagne), the bride's gown (Vera Wang), and the classic theme makes for a picture perfect wedding. I especially like the picture of the dog at the sign-in table and the fireworks to top the night off.  Wow.

Bridal Extravaganza - A Must Go!

Image via Putrapertiwi
I vividly remember this time last year as the starting point of my wedding planning.  The Bridal Extravaganza came into town and I was so reluctant to go. For those of you who don't know,  this is the Mother of all Bridal Events for brides-to-be in Texas.  It may be called something else in other states, but this convention has everything you can possibly imagine for the bride-to-be.  Vendors from all over have booths to showcase their work and services. Same thing, different name.

To be honest, the ONLY reason I decided to go was because I wanted my mother to experience the mayhem.  I pictured future brides running around wearing mini veils, holding stacks of binders and magazines, and I was expecting a few cat fights to break out amongst brides and future mother-in-laws.  To my astonishment, the event was well organized and there were no fights (well, none that I saw anyway).  I think I registered for everything imaginable (hoping to win something...anything).  Again, no luck.  However, I did get to sample some wedding cake, received many goodie bags, and walked away with some GREAT deals!

Mind you, I was NOT the typical bride. I never thought about my wedding until I got engaged. I am not a bridezilla. The only thing I knew was I wanted to get married in a church. That's it. So, you can see the reluctance of attending this event.

In summary, I found my flower lady, the lovely Carmen Floral Designs, and I received a great offer from Men's Warehouse where my hubby received a free suit (since our groomsmen rented their tuxes) and we received 1 free plane ticket anywhere in the U.S.! That saved us $400 on the suit alone!  Plus, mom had a blast which made the trip worth it.

They are in town this weekend.  Check THEIR site for exact dates. It's definitely worth a trip. You have nothing to lose.  Let me know if you go and what deals were offered! I'd love to know.

I Made It Mondays: DIY Wedding Painted Vases

This past weekend, I took a trip to the 99 cent store in search of my latest and greatest DIY project for the wedding. I came across this idea at Style Me Pretty and wanted to try it for myself.  It turned out pretty good (for my first time) and only took about 20 minutes to do!  Let me know what you think and if you have other tips for me.

What you need:
1. Assorted empty bottles and vases (all shapes, sizes, and textures)
2. Spray paint - $4.99-$5.99 at Hobby Lobby
3. Gloves - I suggest a couple pairs since the paint dries quickly and can get sticky
4. Rubbing Alcohol - To clean the vases
5. Newspaper - To line the floor

Instructions:
1. Clean and dry bottles and vases thoroughly with rubbing alcohol.
2. Put on gloves and hold spray paint at least 6-8 inches away from vase.
3. In a well ventilated area, spray paint items with several light coats of paint to cover entire piece. Allow each coat to dry completely before spraying the next.

NOTE: Resist the urge to "over" spray or the paint will drip down the vase.  It's better to spray a little to cover the entire vase and repeat this several times. Also, do not spray too close as this will give the same dripping effect.

4. Wait about 15-20 minutes or until completely dry.
5. Add flowers of your choice with water and there you have it!  An inexpensive and elegant look!

Floral Fridays: Take My Breath Away

I am meeting with my florist this weekend and have been looking for last minute floral arrangements to show her.

Who ever thought baby's breath would make such a gorgeous centerpiece?   Came across these great pictures from The Cinderella Project and had to share it with you. These arrangements were front and center for everyone to see.

Found some more images from Intimate Weddings that used them as ceremony decor and bridesmaid bouquets.  Such a classic, simple, and affordable way to glam up your wedding!  I may have to use a few of these for our reception.
